Energy work has been defined in a variety of ways. One of my favorite resources for the definition is Dr. Richard Gerber’s, A Practical Guide to Vibrational Medicine.
He says, “In the energetic model of medicine, spirit is seen as the motivating force that animates the physical form….In the vibrational-medicine model it is the Beingness in our spirit and its experiential journey through the physical world that creates a real adventure and mystery in a person’s life.”
Think of energy work as going to the source of your energetic compression and giving yourself an opportunity to release, expand and lighten up. I believe that energy works directly with your nervous system and promotes a deeper unwinding relaxation.
Ultimately, we are energy in motion. If you were to place your finger under an electron microscope you are atoms; electrons and neutrons in motion. You are carrying energetic signatures of not only your personal life experience but your ancestral DNA memory as well. This is stored in our blood, organs and all parts of you.
Science is now able to measure our energetic body in a variety of ways and for a variety of reasons. This is what an EEG or an EKG is for. These tools measure waves of energy. We can also measure auras, and organ health. In my opinion, the work of Dr. Joe Dispenza, world renown author, teacher and healer is the best testament to this science.
I use my intuitive talent to see where you are emotionally holding unneeded emotional energy that is stored in your body that affect your nervous system and state of mind. As you clear this weighted energy, you are assisting yourself to connect more consciously to the already existing wisdom within you; you will literally begin to feel lighter. I can guide you to heal and know your own innate wholeness. This means addressing patterns of thought, beliefs, and obsolete defense mechanisms that no longer serve you. I think of it as recalibrating your nervous system and opening your heart to your SELF in profound ways.
I have worked in person and through phone or zoom; all are equally effective. Currently, I am not seeing anyone in person. I use a variety of tools as needed in each session.
My ability to assist you lies in deep listening on many levels, including intuitive; accessing information that your conscious mind may not be able to provide to you. The goal is alway to gently and safely bring to your awareness and release of what it is in you that is in need of love and healing. Sometimes we talk and other times the healing is done in silence.
Each session is unique to the individual. This awareness and release, along with your motivation moves you towards a greater sense of well-being and an ease in making practical changes in your everyday life.
In my opinion, the biggest difference between traditional psychotherapy and energy work is that they each have a different frame of reference.
Psychotherapy is closely tied to the traditional medical model. Modern medicine views the body in parts versus as a whole. So, for example, if you have emotional problems then the focus is on the brain, brain chemistry and thought processes. Treatment involves understanding and practical tools that can be behavioral or medicinal.
The whole body experience is where spirituality comes into play. Energy work in all its forms is designed to address deeper issues. It is ultimately looking to clear blocks that we hold within our subtle energetic bodies that keep up from connecting to our greater sense of Self. When the blocks begin to clear we are free to connect to our innate inner wisdom, to open our hearts to ourselves. and to know our soul; the animating force of life that is the God, Divine Intelligence within. This experience goes beyond understanding and tools. Your spirit and it’s accompanying inner wisdom can be overlooked in the traditional model.
This is where spirituality comes into play. It’s focus is to connect you to your inner-Self, to teach you to trust your inner wisdom, open your heart to your self , connect to that animating force of life that is the God, Divine Intelligence within. This is the goal and it goes beyond understanding and tools. Your spirit and its accompanying inner wisdom can be overlooked in the traditional model.
In a nutshell, for years, I woke up every morning with mid-level anxiety. Regardless of my education and therapy, learning to manage it seemed to be the best option. One day in 1991, after a series of sessions with a gifted healer of energy work, I woke up with NO anxiety to manage. A minor miracle!
Waking relaxed has continued to this day. This was followed by the realization that I really can (and so can you) live in peace, and harmony every day. I just needed to know more. Discovering more about this process became my purpose.
My work has evolved as a product of my personal experiences. I welcome any further questions you may have. I have also provided other resources on my resource page and through Ruth’s Wisdom’s. I welcome your feedback.
